GRAND KNIGHTS REPORT
Our Council is very fortunate to have Norris
Simon serve as Grand Knight . This is his second term and many things have been
accomplished during and with his leadership.
Just look around the hall and witness what has happened.
Norris has advised he would like to write
a few things in the LETTER and will. All
of our Council members know that he is a special person and as so, must wear
many hats. Each taking many hours of his
time - unbeliever’s follow him for a couple of hours.
His words will appear in his column very
shortly. Until then, just give him another “pat on the back”.
COUNCIL'S WEB PAGE
Tony Tomplait has done as excellent job of putting
our functions, activities and
availability for all of our computer viewers to appreciate.
The website he created shows rental dates,
pictures of the hall and many interesting view of the parties, etc. we have had

and you will be surprised. The

Sir Knight Carlton J. Veltz has made arrangements with
Father Anthony and members of the Santa Maria Assembly to bring their “Living
Rosary” to Little Flower Church on August 19th. Immediately
after 8:00 AM Mass, the church members
and Sir Knights will assemble in the new church hall. where everyone will
participate in saying the Rosary.
All council
members and families are encouraged to attend. This is another way of showing
the togetherness of Our Holy
Church and the Knights of Columbus.
Mark your calendars.
Charity in Action
We recently were requestedby Lois and Beverly May to assist the S/E Texas
Interfaith Org. and sponsor a benefit to raise money to assist in the repair of
local homes of unfortunate families left damaged by the 2005 hurricane.
Our Council
workers turned out before 7:00 AM on July 21st to start cooking chicken, etc.; then later,
serving many guest, viewing an ole’ car show and preparing for a dance
that started at 8:00 PM.
Many volunteers
from the area assisted with various tasks and we certainly appreciated and needed all of
them. To list all names, we would cover
this entire page - so a Huge Thanks to all . Don’t forget the “Cajun Popcorn”, which was
a big hit with the dancers.
Oh, in case you
are asked, we were able to add a little
over $30,000.00 for their project. Also,
all of the workers commented how much fun
they were having and knowing that their efforts was for another
wonderful cause.
REMODELING TIME AGAIN AT COUNCIL 3195
Better hurry and take a
tour through the council hall, kitchen, hot room, all bathrooms and a few more
places that will soon (almost) be completely redone. The tour should be taken
so you can remember the way it once happened to be. The plans were discussed in
our recent business meeting and were authorized by the council. Financial plans
have been handled by our Council Treasurer, Clyde Boudreaux. Included in the plans will be a new Grand
Knight office, which will be welcomed by all.
DIOCESE CONFRENCE IN BEAUMONT
You will always
learn something new at the Annual Diocese Meeting for our District which was
held July 21 in Beaumont at Council #951 Hall.
Thisyear was reported as a banner year for our council, as we were the ONLY
COUNCIL in our district to be AWARDED” STAR COUNCIL”.
Attending from
our council were James DeLeon, LeRoy Peltier and Reg Garner.
We closed the meeting around 2:00 PM,
just in time to rush back to our hall to help with the S/E Texas Interfaith
Org. benefit.
Star
Council and a very Successful Benefit - all in the same day - that
ain’t all bad!

or members of your family? You probably will say that it isn’t important, but
tell us anyway and we will thank you.
Well, just write it down (names, dates, happenings, etc.) and give to me or

We were successful in furnishing 2 - $ 500.00 scholarships this year to local high school students and perhaps the amount can be increased.
Tickets $2.00ea or 3 for $5.00. Please help this worthy cause for our students.
